Project outcomes & policy recommendations

Based on a situational survey report documenting the prevailing understanding and inclusion of Intercultural Competence within postgraduate Translation programmes the PICT project generated the following products.

  • A Curriculum Framework providing curriculum definitions for the Intercultural Communication module and for the introduction of Intercultural Communication as a cross-curriculum theme.
  • Sample Pedagogical Materials for the stand-alone module and for the teaching of Intercultural Communication as a cross-curricular theme.
  • Sample Assessment Materials for the stand-alone module in Intercultural Communication and for the assessment of intercultural communicative competence taught as a cross-curricular theme.

The PICT project furthermore drafted Policy Recommendations in order to enhance the teaching of intercultural communication in postgraduate translation programmes.
